Paris Hilton has starred in countless reality shows and a “night vision” sex tape, but do any of us really know her? Like, really, really know her? Apparently, Hilton doesn’t think so. The heiress is producing a documentary about herself that will fill in all the gaps to her eternally filmable life story.
Called an “unflinching, authorized documentary,” this currently untitled portrait will focus on Hilton’s life as a celebrity — specifically, what “made her famous.” Co-producing the film are 9.14 Pictures and XYZ Films — two production companies that either never saw the 2008 Hilton doc Paris, Not France or just didn’t think that it was as “unflinching” and “authorized” as the one that they’re working on will be.
The Hilton doc is currently being introduced to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival and will begin filming in Ibiza at the end of the summer. Don Argott and Sheena Joyce (The Art of the Steal), will be directing, and are pumped to be working with Hilton. Really, who wouldn’t be? Discussing Paris, the filmmakers had this to say:
Paris Hilton is a modern day-Marilyn Monroe — beautiful, iconized, world famous, shaped by mass media, and misunderstood. We are thrilled to work with Paris to explore her complicated relationship with the public, the press, and the politics that shape our perception of a modern celebrity.
Maybe this doc will reignite the socialite’s media career and be the catalyst for another reality series that gives us an even deeper look into her life. Let’s all keep out fingers crossed.
