Like William Wallace, we only want one thing for you… FREEEEEEEEDOMMMM
While Wallace’s battle for independence for the Scottish people was PROBABLY a bit more important, we take issue with media companies who have turned everything into a pay-for-play model. Do you remember the days when you could just watch TV for free? Nowadays, it’s $100 a month for your cable bill, $8 a month for Netflix, $8 a month for Hulu, $15 a month for HBO Go, $3 for a soda, $.50 for extra ranch…. Sorry — now I’m getting personal…
But since we’re here… let me tell you a bit about why I so strongly believe in not being tied down to monthly reoccurring contracts. The payments start to automatically deduct from your account each month and you don’t even factor it into your earnings anymore. And that’s when the tragedy occurs.
When I had cable through the years — living in Texas, California, Idaho, and Ohio — I pretty much had them all: Time Warner, AT&T, Comcast, Satellite, and Dish Network. On average, I paid about $100 a month. One day, I got fed up that I was wasting my life watching reality television shows, flipping through channels — endlessly — and even feeling pressured to watch TV, so that I could get my money’s worth! So I got rid of my cable.
That was in 2008.
I saved $1,200 that year and used it to take a trip to Brazil and Argentina. In seven years, I’ve saved $8,400. I’ve taken an international trip every year and have now seen 25 countries.
That doesn’t mean I didn’t miss television. I watched movies and shows on sketchy websites, where thousands of pop-ups would occur, and automatic downloads of who-knows-what scared the bejeezus out of me. Plus, shows were constantly buffering, or VERY poor quality, with low video resolution and terrible audio.
With Tubi TV, I get to watch movies and television shows again — legal and high-quality! — and I feel NO pressure to watch. Because it’s free. I watch when I want and how I want. I’ve binge-watched reality shows (Flavor of Love, amongst others, haha), travel shows (so I can inspire my next trip), and TV shows and movies featuring Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Diane Keaton, Ashton Kutcher, Michael Douglas, Jason Segel, Keira Knightley, and literally, THOUSANDS of other stars.
Tubi TV has 40,000 movies and television shows! More than Hulu and Netflix!
Do I miss cable?!? Never.
Freedom is truly priceless. And Tubi TV is freedom.
Say hello to my lil friend! Introducing our latest billboard campaign….
